Large scale Data Extraction

FRAMETEXX announces that is has successfully finished the support of its largest T24 Data Extraction Project until the date in cooperation with Capgemini Limited in the middle east region.

As part of the Records Management and Unified Information Governance strategy, a large bank in the middle east chose to safeguard the historical information from its large legacy systems such as T24 in a safe immutable governance platform to protect itself from audit, legal and compliance obligations. The programme had multiple complexities such as extracting information, building a safe data vault, designing hundreds of data visualisation reports and dashboards. Capgemini and FRAMETEXX entered a highly collaborative partnership to execute this programme resulting in efficient task allocation, optimised data extraction, and faster project execution. The mutual collaboration between both companies enabled the timely completion of the bank’s IT & business commitments and resulted in substantial cost savings.

“For the FRAMETEXX Team, this has been our largest data extraction project until date. The difference to the usual T24 data extraction projects was that all T24 tables from a multi-company environment needed to be extracted and archived. We really achieved this goal in time and to the complete satisfaction of the customer. This success is due to the excellent cooperation with the Capgemini Team during the entire project as well as to the use of the DataBridge.“ Rainer Weiss, Managing Director of FRAMETEXX, says.

“We assessed several market solutions that enable faster data extraction from large legacy systems like T24 with limited success. After thorough research, we found DataBridge from FRAMETEXX, the most suitable and flexible solution for our purpose of large scale extraction (i.e. 8TB). With DataBridge, we could extract a massive volume of information faster and in a meaningful manner. The utilisation of DataBridge reduced the time to go live while keeping our cost of extraction lower.”, Says Kathiravan Manoharan, Head of Insights & Data Practice FSI ASIA for Capgemini.

Capgemini strategically decides for DataBridge Direct

Capgemini Saudi Limited decided to use FLink DataBridge Direct for T24 data extraction in a customer project for a major bank.

In this project, that has already started, the DataBridge is used to extract data from a T24 core banking system with 30,000+ tables and to convert it into a relational format for archiving purposes. This will enable the bank to decommission their existing core banking system as they migrate into a new platform. The software has already been installed successfully, and FRAMETEXX has carried out extensive User Training for the Capgemini Team.

Capgemini and FRAMETEXX are considering a strategic cooperation that will enable the use of the provider’s software portfolio in further projects. The DataBridge has proven itself over many years and is used by FRAMETEXX customers around the world.

“This is one of the large scale conversion project to help our client for a successful decommission in a stringent timeline and we find FRAMETEXX suitable to our requirements.”
said Kathiravan Manoharan, Regional Lead – APAC & ME, Capgemini.

Banque Raiffeisen Luxembourg

We welcome Banque Raiffeisen Luxembourg as our client and are proud to announce that the bank has chosen FLink DataBridge Direct (Snapshot/near-realtime).

After successful proof of concept, onsite at the bank in Luxembourg, Banque Raiffeisen and FRAMETEXX recently signed Contract.

DataBridge Direct supports near real-time streaming

The DataBridgeDirect provides instantaneous data processing techniques such as Data Streaming, that is capable of delivering data extractions from a Temenos T24™ data source into a relational format in near real-time.
With this process, users get real-time information on customer, accounts, transactions, etc. in the DataBridge’s landing zone. This data can be queried directly by Standard SQL Tools or be delivered to post processing systems (BI / DWH), to help them make faster and better decisions.

Challenges in Data Streaming
Operations should happen in milliseconds or seconds. So one of the most crucial challenges that define the entire process is speed, followed by being able to detect the data that needs to be transferred.
The DataBridgeDirect allows you to strip down single T24 tables and fields for the streaming process. Parallel processing options allow planning scalability on multiple servers if necessary.
Changes on the data source are detected by using standard database functionalities, to avoid or minimize any effects on the source system. There is no need to develop individual triggers or programs which might impact performance and increase maintenance.

Process Configuration
Change data tracking needs to be enabled on specific tables on database level. The extraction process can easily be configured on a Workflow within FLink Designer and deployed to a FLink Service runtime environment. By configuring the schedule of the Workflow, the user can influence the beat on how often the DataBridge is looking for changed data. This can range from immediately to seconds, minutes or hours.

DataBridge delivered for HP on Serbian market

The DataBridge enables HP Serbia to extract data from TEMENOS T24™ in order to feed HP’S BI-System. The software is fully integrated in pre- and post processing by using FLink’s workflow components for database, file and event connectors. Data for DB2 and MSSQL databases are extracted and loaded for multiple banks. ‘We are pleased that FRAMETEXX can help HP to replace their actual solution for data extraction by our DataBridge Module. The customer requested a solution that provides a short time to market in combination with high flexibility in the licensing model. This is exactly what we offer and deliver.’ says Olaf Kramer, Managing Director of FRAMETEXX. The DataBridge also met HP’s high performance criteria and set new standards for speed and performance by installing a multiple server architecture. This cuts the overall runtime for data extraction and normalization in half.

FLink DataBridge Multi-Server architecture

FRAMETEXX extends the possibilities for the DataBridge Direct Module for parallel processing. In addition to further performance options, big data can now be converted by using multiple servers. By providing this scalability the use of DataBridge Direct cuts the overall runtime to half. The feature is available in FLink Release 2.14.

DataBridge on the Microfinance market in Africa

The necessity for BI-Systems has already arrived on the micro-finance market. The amount of banks and financial institutions in Africa that want to put a BI-System of their choice in place is increasing considerably. FRAMETEXX supports Opportunity International in Uganda to do so. By installing the DataBridge Module, the bank is now able to extract and to convert data from TEMENOS T24™ to a relational database. Due to the possibility to access the core data from the landing zone with SQL queries, the data can now easily be aggregated to provide it for the management dashboards. For Opportunity International, the DataBridge is a big step in-between. It is easy to implement and to run and it offers highest flexibility, even for smaller banks in the market.

DataBridge now available for Temenos T24 R15

FRAMETEXX successfully upgraded the DataBridge Module for the TEMENOS T24™ release R15. The DataBridge upgrade is available with FLink Release 2.14.
